I was cursing my bad luck as I walked down the lengthy lane,
Which comforted my conscience and my mind,
Alone as I lamented the bad choices I had made,
I had not an idea what I’d find,
But stood there in the distance a silhouette of solitude,
A shadow in the sinking summer sun,
I felt the curiosity lead me down the path,
Within seconds I knew something had begun
Why do we always want what’s unattainable?
And why do we always need
What isn’t gainable?
She hadn’t moved an inch since I had cast my eyes on her,
But still she didn’t notice I was near,
With every step I took she seemed to move further away,
Her beauty like the rain was crystal clear,
A strong magnetic force seemed to pull my weary feet,
Our two opposite symbols drawing close,
I knew that I was negative and her sign was a plus,
I knew that it was me whom she had chose,
Why do we always want what’s unattainable?
And why do we always need
What isn’t gainable?
I was cursing my bad luck as I walked down the lengthy lane,
Which comforted my conscience and my mind,
